Local councillors and residents are backing a national campaign to get half a million people out and about cleaning up their local communities in March 2017.
As part of its support for the country’s biggest-ever community clear up Witney is seeking volunteers to take part in an organised litter-pick on Saturday 4th on Cogges Hill Road at 10am and Sunday 5th at The Leys for 1pm.
Liam Walker, one of the organisers for the weekend said: ‘The Great British Spring Clean is about everyone working together to clean up the litter that blights our landscape and communities and we’re delighted to be taking part and bringing people together to tackle an issue that many people care passionately about.’
Volunteers are asked to email cllrbartington@outlook.com or liamwalker.oxon@outlook.com to confirm they’d like to take part. All equipment will be provided on the day. Only people pre-registering will be allowed to participate to control numbers and ensure safety.
