I'm pleased to be working with our team at Oxfordshire County Council who are consulting on plans to implement a 7.5 tonne weight limit restriction for Minster Lovell.
HGVs cutting through Minster Lovell has been a problem for many years. It's good news the County Council are now in a position to take action. The Council have been consulting on plans to implement a 7.5 tonne weight restriction along the Brize Norton Road from the A40 and on the Burford Road from Asthall Leigh roundabout to Downs Road in Witney.
Access would still be allowed for local businesses and deliveries to homes in the village. What this weight restriction will do is stop HGVs cutting through Minster Lovell to get to industrial estates in Witney. They would instead be required to use the A40 and make use of the new roundabout which is being constructed near Curbridge along the A40.
