Cllr Liam Walker who represents the Hanborough and Minster Lovell division at Oxfordshire County Council said he was "delighted" to now be elected as the District Councillor for the Hailey, Minster Lovell and Leafield ward on West Oxfordshire District Council.
Mr Walker who has been a County Councillor since 2017 announced earlier this year of his intentions to stand for the District Council for the election which took place on Thursday 4th May.
A total of 17 seats were up for election this time with Cllr Walker contesting the Hailey, Minster Lovell and Leafield ward which was previously held by Conservative Cllr Gill Hill who has now retired from the role.
Cllr Walker said, "I'm delighted to be taking on this new role in a part of West Oxfordshire that really means a lot to me with Minster Lovell being the village that I grew up in. Over the years I have become frustrated with the lack of joined up thinking between the District and County council and with a number of major planning and infrastructure projects coming up I thought it was time to input from both councils to ensure we get what is best for our community."
Cllr Walker will now serve a four year term on West Oxfordshire District Council.
